Police arrest man for drug trafficking and seize over one thousand drug portions in northern São Paulo
On Wednesday last week, the 8th, a coordinated operation between the Tactical Force of the 43rd BPM/M and the Canine Unit of the 15th BAEP resulted in the arrest of a man accused of selling illicit substances in the northern zone of the São Paulo capital.
The action took place within a community situated in Vila Medeiros. Officers approached a citizen who was carrying a bag containing drugs. Specialised drug-detection dogs helped locate other packages containing drugs, as well as money and tools used to weigh and package the material.
The total quantity seized exceeded one thousand units of different types of drugs, including cocaine, marijuana, crack and ecstasy. Eleven precision scales and a sum of money were also collected.
During the approach, the suspect presented false documentation in an attempt to conceal his identity. After confirmation of who he was, police discovered that he already had a history of involvement in property crimes with previous records in the region.
The case was registered at the 73rd Police District. The detainee remained at the disposal of the courts.
