Police dismantle cannabis growing operation with internet sales in São Paulo
Police officers located a residence in São Paulo capital that served as an illegal cannabis growing operation and also as a base for drug distribution. The premises was equipped with artificial lights and a ventilation system designed to accelerate plant development, as reported by R7.
Investigations revealed that the property functioned simultaneously as the headquarters of an online sales operation. A website available at all times allowed buyers to choose between different types and quantities of the substance, despite the prices being considered high.
The police operation was launched based on reports pointing to an individual using his own home to produce and sell marijuana. When police officers arrived at the location, they identified an intense and characteristic odour coming from inside the building. The material found was confiscated and the man was detained on the spot.
The arrested man had prior criminal records for the same offence. In the previous month, he had been apprehended for drug trafficking, but was released after appearing at a custody hearing. Investigations are ongoing.
