Third suspect in attack on Rota officer arrested in Heliópolis, São Paulo
Luiz Henrique de Oliveira Nascimento, 34 years old, was detained on Tuesday (7) in São Paulo for involvement in the attack on Lieutenant Ronickson Pimentel. Police are investigating PCC involvement in the crime.
Third arrested in case of attack on Rota officer in São Paulo
The Military Police arrested, on Tuesday (7), a third suspect in the attempted murder of Rota Lieutenant Ronickson Pimentel dos Santos, in the Heliópolis region, south zone of São Paulo. According to investigations by Google News BR — Crime, the detainee was identified as Luiz Henrique de Oliveira Nascimento, 34 years old.
The approach occurred on Rua Lício de Miranda. According to police, during the operation Luiz Henrique confirmed participation in the crime, stating that he had disposed of the motorcycle used by the perpetrators of the shooting. Investigators emphasise that he was not responsible for the shot that hit the officer.
Taken to the DHPP (Homicide and Personal Protection Department), where there was an arrest warrant in his name, Luiz Henrique remains at the disposal of the courts.
Two other suspects had already been detained
Two other men, aged 40 and 52, were located and arrested on the morning of Sunday (28), in Guaianases, east zone of São Paulo. Police indicate that the three provided logistical and transport support on the day of the attack. One of them confessed to participation in the crime. The youngest, aged 24, who was also in the group initially detained, was released.
Attack occurred in São Caetano do Sul
The attack took place on the morning of Saturday (27), on Avenida Goiás, in São Caetano do Sul, in Greater São Paulo. The lieutenant was leaving a gymnasium when two men on a motorcycle pulled up beside him and fired shots, hitting him in the head.
A Samu team provided initial medical assistance at the scene. Due to the severity of the injuries, Pimentel was transported urgently to hospital by the Águia helicopter, of the Military Police Air Division.
PCC investigated as the mastermind
The Rota gathered evidence pointing to prior planning by the perpetrators. The Military Police are investigating the involvement of the PCC (Primeiro Comando da Capital), the country's largest criminal faction, in the commission and coordination of the attack.
The Public Security Department of the State of São Paulo is offering a reward of R$ 50,000 for information leading to the location and arrest of Hércules da Costa Siqueira, known by the nicknames "Golias" and "Peruca", identified as a participant in the crime.
Brother of Eloá Pimentel
Ronickson Pimentel is the older brother of Eloá Pimentel, a 15-year-old girl murdered in 2008 by ex-boyfriend Lindemberg Alves after being held hostage for over 100 hours — a case that gained national attention.
