Shots fired from moving vehicle kill man in El Tabo
A 34-year-old Chilean man died after receiving multiple gunshot wounds on Armando Celis avenue, in front of the Parquemar condominium, in the municipality of El Tabo, Valparaíso region. According to biobiochile.cl, the shots are believed to have been fired from a moving vehicle.
The victim had several gunshot wounds when found on the roadway. Personnel from the Homicide Brigade (BH) of the Investigation Police (PDI) in San Antonio travelled to the scene to begin investigations.
Sub-commissioner Miguel Hermosilla, from the BH, confirmed the general identity of the victim and detailed the ongoing procedures. "Various procedures are being carried out, such as the police external recognition of the body, work at the scene of the incident, collection of evidence from it, search and analysis of security cameras, taking of witness statements and census-taking in order to establish the dynamics of the facts, the identity and responsibility of the accused person or persons and their current whereabouts," Hermosilla explained.
The crime corresponds to the 79th homicide recorded so far this year in the Valparaíso region, according to data from the Carabineros Police Tactical Operations System (STOP).
