An adult man was shot dead in the municipality of Cerro Navia, in the Metropolitan Region, during the morning of Saturday, according to biobiochile.cl.
At around 10:00, Carabineros received notice of a person's death in a public place. The victim, approximately 30 years old, presented multiple bullet impacts in different parts of his body. His nationality is yet to be determined by the authorities.
According to testimony from the victim's sister, the man left his home on Venecia Street—at the intersection of Roma with Milán—accompanied by two people. The woman stated that her brother had had previous problems with one of them, a situation that had apparently triggered the attack. The alleged perpetrators fled the scene after the shooting.
The Organised Crime and Homicides Unit of the Prosecutor's Office (ECOH) is leading proceedings to clarify the crime.
