According to policia.gov.co, officers of the National Police arrested a 28-year-old man in flagrante delicto in the Garzones sector, municipality of Cereté, Córdoba, after establishing that the motorcycle he was operating had a theft report on file.
During a routine control and prevention procedure, officers requested the vehicle documentation and entered the information into the institutional PDA device. The search yielded a positive result, confirming that the motorcycle was listed as stolen.
The man arrested was charged with his alleged involvement in the crime of receiving stolen property. Both the detainee and the recovered motorcycle were turned over to the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation to proceed with the case before the competent authority.
Captain Manuel Arteaga highlighted the importance of these controls, noting that systematic verification of vehicle information allows for the timely identification of motorcycles subject to legal requirements and their delivery to the authorities.
The National Police recommended that vehicle owners and drivers keep their documentation up to date and verify the origin of vehicles before purchasing them. In the face of any suspicious situation related to stolen vehicles, authorities urged citizens to report it immediately.
