Two men, aged 22 and 28, have been arrested by court warrant in connection with an attempted murder case and causing serious bodily harm that took place on 4 November 2026 in Paphos. The District Court of Paphos issued a six-day detention order against them.
According to Dialogos, the case was reported by a 74-year-old Paphos resident. Around 4 p.m. on the day in question, whilst the man was in an external area of an apartment complex, an unknown driver attempted to run him down with his vehicle, but failed to do so.
Subsequently, the driver is alleged to have deliberately collided with the complainant's car, causing material damage. After the suspect vehicle left the scene, two unknown individuals approached the 74-year-old and threw chairs at him, injuring him in the legs, back and head.
The injured man was transferred to Paphos General Hospital, where a haematoma was found at the back of his head, a fractured nose and abrasions on his legs. He was admitted for hospitalisation and discharged the following day.
In the course of the investigation, evidence emerged against the two suspects, who were arrested and brought before the District Court of Paphos. The Paphos TAE continues its investigations.
