A teenage non-resident of Cyprus escaped from a police patrol car that was transporting him to a court in the city. Security services are searching for him.

An 18-year-old teenager who is not a Cypriot national managed to escape from a patrol car during his transfer to a courthouse in Larnaca for a criminal law matter.
The incident, as reported by Politis, occurred approximately one hour before the report was published. The youth was in custody and was due to be brought before court when, during the journey, he managed to escape.
From the outset, officers from the local Police Directorate were mobilised to locate him. Searches are being conducted in the area surrounding the courthouse as well as in neighbouring districts of the city.
At the same time, the circumstances that allowed the detainee to leave the vehicle of the prosecution authorities are being examined. The work of police officers continues.
