22-year-old jumps from window during arrest in Ansbach – two police officers injured
A 22-year-old fled from a first-floor window whilst police were executing an arrest warrant in Ansbach. His mother threatened officers and threw objects at them.
Arrest in Ansbach city centre escalates
According to the Süddeutsche Zeitung, two police officers were slightly injured when executing an arrest warrant in the city centre of Ansbach. Officers attempted to arrest a 22-year-old when the operation got out of control.
To escape the officers' grasp, the wanted man jumped from a first-floor window. However, another patrol was already waiting outside the building and intercepted him. During the subsequent arrest, he resisted violently, so he was eventually transported to a correctional facility bound at the hands and feet. A 26-year-old and a 35-year-old officer sustained minor injuries in the scuffle but remained fit for duty.
Additionally, the behaviour of the arrested man's mother significantly escalated the situation. The 42-year-old allegedly first verbally insulted the officers and raised her middle finger, according to police. Furthermore, she allegedly threatened the officers with death and threw objects at them from the window. An investigation was initiated against her.
