Prosecutor's office brings charges against eleven motorcycle club members

The Gera public prosecutor's office has brought charges against eleven suspected members of a motorcycle club (MC) at the Meiningen regional court, according to zeit.de. The accusations include drug trafficking in substantial quantities, particularly serious robbery-related extortion and extortion-related kidnapping – according to the Thuringia criminal police authority (LKA).

Three of the accused are currently held in pre-trial detention, including the club's former "President". The eleven men are between 25 and 49 years old.

The investigations by the LKA and the Gera public prosecutor's office, which is responsible for organised crime, were preceded by several raids and arrests in the previous year – concentrated primarily in southern Thuringia, but also in Saxony and Bavaria. During these operations, evidence, assets and several motorcycles were seized.

The Meiningen regional court confirmed receipt of the indictment. No decision has yet been made on admission of the charges and opening of proceedings.

The investigations were triggered in 2025 after a member expelled from the club had all his assets and vehicles taken from him under threat of violence and threats of further violence, according to the LKA. Further investigations strengthened the suspicion that club members broke into a flat in Schleusingen in January 2025 and stole €845,000 from a businessman.
