Gang sold untaxed e-cigarettes to children – twelve suspects in Nuremberg
Customs, prosecutors and police are investigating twelve suspects who are alleged to have sold smuggled e-cigarettes to minors in Nuremberg kiosks.

A gang is alleged to have sold untaxed e-cigarettes and allegedly illegally manufactured shisha tobacco to children and young people in Nuremberg, according to the Süddeutsche Zeitung. Customs, prosecutors and police are investigating twelve suspects aged between 24 and 47, according to their own statements.
During searches, investigators seized approximately 8,000 untaxed e-cigarettes and cigarettes, nearly 4,000 nicotine pouches and 70,000 euros in cash. Customs investigation has calculated the preliminary tax loss at roughly 72,000 euros.
Investigations on suspicion of commercial and gang-related tax fraud, tax evasion and breaches of the Tobacco Products Act have been running since early 2026. Approximately two weeks ago, authorities searched 13 apartments, four kiosks and two other business premises.
