German security forces have arrested nine people suspected of preparing a terror attack timed to coincide with the second anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel.

German security forces have arrested nine people suspected of preparing a terror attack. The attack was allegedly planned to take place around the second anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel.
Police arrested the first three suspects on 1 October, just days before the date estimated by prosecutors as the planned attack date around 7 October 2025. In total, nine people are accused of smuggling and storing weapons and ammunition in Germany since mid-2025.
The Federal Prosecutor's Office revealed the case at its annual press conference in Karlsruhe, as reported by Večernji list.
"A pre-recorded video was found with one of the suspects in which he claims responsibility," explained prosecutor Rommel. Someone had prepared the recording, which represents a typical pattern in planned terror attacks. The content of the video relates to precisely this date and the claiming of responsibility for an attack that was not carried out.
The Federal Prosecutor's Office, which is responsible for terrorism, espionage and war crimes, took over the investigation. Details about the identity of the suspects and the specific attack target have not been disclosed so far.
