In the Schwäbisch Gmünd area as well as in Hesse, officers searched a total of six properties. The reason was ongoing investigations into suspected commercial dealing in narcotics. As DIE ZEIT reports, officers found approximately two kilogrammes of amphetamine in the operations.

In addition to the synthetic drugs, investigators also discovered an unspecified quantity of cocaine. Various items typical of drug trafficking were also seized: digital scales, mobile phones, data storage devices and packaging material.

Three individuals – aged 27, 28 and 33 – came under scrutiny from investigators and were initially taken into custody. Following police interrogations, the responsible prosecution authority in Ellwangen ordered their release.

Investigations by the law enforcement authorities are not yet concluded.
