In a Bavarian town near the Austrian border, officers searched the premises of a couple. The 34-year-old householder and his partner did not open the door, so the emergency personnel forced their way in. Inside, they discovered an elaborately set-up plantation.
Sixteen cannabis plants stood in a specially prepared room. The facility was equipped with technical installations for climate control, including ventilation, lighting and devices for measuring humidity and temperature. In addition to the living plants, officers found processed material: approximately half a hundred grammes of marijuana and ten grammes of hashish. Two metal striking weapons were also seized. The investigators also secured various items of value in the upper segment – watches, branded clothing and perfume – whose origin is now being examined.
The male suspect was no longer registered at the address. He stated that he had deliberately deregistered in order to continue receiving Austrian unemployment support, although he was no longer entitled to it. He now faces charges in the drug category – unlawful distribution and cultivation beyond the permitted amount – as well as weapons violations. The local police station and the responsible prosecution authority are coordinating the next steps. More detailed information will remain confidential for the time being.
