Criminal police are appealing for assistance in their search for a woman who robbed an 86-year-old in the Harz region in late February and used her bank card to make withdrawals.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of 26 February 2026 at a discount store branch on Lerchenbreite in Blankenburg. An unknown woman stole the older woman's wallet. Inside were 200 euros in cash as well as a debit card.
The thief then used the card to withdraw money from the victim's account. The damage amounts to a low four-figure sum. An image of the suspect was obtained from an ATM camera.
The responsible station in Halberstadt is now seeking witnesses who can provide information about the crime or the fugitive woman. The police accept tips on 03941/674-293 or via the online portal of the LKA.
