The police forces of the Hanseatic city conducted a lengthy operation on Thursday. Over the course of eight hours, they carried out targeted checks to uncover drug courier services. Eleven young men, aged between 17 and 34, came under investigation. They are suspected of trafficking illegal substances.
The search of four vehicles and eleven apartments yielded substantial findings: officers discovered not only marijuana, hashish and cocaine, but also stabbing implements and two blank-firing weapons. In addition, investigators recovered cash amounting to approximately 9,000 euros, which they classified as proceeds from drug sales.
Beyond the eleven main suspects, three further persons came under scrutiny. Two men and a woman face charges related to the acquisition of cocaine and cannabis respectively.
Just two days earlier, Hamburg officers had made a similar discovery. During a routine vehicle check, they found two kilograms of marijuana and 100 grammes of hashish on a 41-year-old man. A search of the man's apartment yielded further findings: approximately 40 kilograms of marijuana, around one kilogramme of ketamine, and 500 grammes of hashish.
