Using the name of a respectable fast-food vendor from Lower Saxony, drug dealers smuggled a large quantity of narcotics into Germany. Investigators discovered a total of 400 kilogrammes of heroin in three containers. The smugglers had listed the family man's food stand as the sender's address.
The affected man operates a burger stand called "Zoomburger". A freight forwarder appeared at his premises to collect a delivery – only then did the man realise that his identity had been misused. Later investigations by the public prosecutor's office confirmed that he had nothing to do with the criminal activities.
Nevertheless, the incident has deeply shaken the life of the innocent man. Regular customers have since avoided the establishment, the landlord and even his tax adviser turned their backs on him. The fast-food vendor now finds himself fighting to preserve his economic livelihood and his family's wellbeing.
