Hunter fires pistol in flat – police seize weapons
A 44-year-old triggered a major police operation in Kirchheim unter Teck after firing a shot in his flat during an argument with his former partner. Officers took the man into provisional custody and confiscated several firearms from him.
The incident occurred on Friday midday in the Ötlingen district. At approximately 12:40, the suspect himself called the emergency call centre and reported that a shot had been fired in his flat and that there had been previous confrontations.
Arriving patrol officers took the man into custody. During the investigation, it emerged that the suspect is active both as a hunter and a sports shooter. During the quarrel with his 46-year-old ex-partner, he had deliberately fired a pistol at furniture and furnishings. The woman sustained minor injuries from the loud shot but did not require medical attention.
The responsible weapons authority subsequently confiscated several potentially licence-requiring firearms from the household. Whether the necessary permits were in place for these is now the subject of further investigation.
The 44-year-old was taken to the police station. He now faces corresponding criminal charges.
