Prosecutor reads out charges over two hours
A 46-year-old paediatrician from the Havelland region has confessed to sexual offences against patients over a period of more than ten years before the Potsdam Regional Court. According to WELT, he is facing a total of 130 counts of sexual assault. "I have incurred great guilt," the defendant said in court. He had already confessed to almost all of the acts in order to spare the victims from having to testify in court.
At the trial's opening, the prosecution read out the charges for more than two hours. The prosecution is working with more than 70 affected individuals who were between two and 20 years old at the time of the assaults. The doctor is said to have committed the offences at two clinic locations, in a medical on-call room and in childcare facilities. Fifteen co-plaintiffs were present in the courtroom at the opening.
The investigation began in November 2024 following a report filed by a mother. After investigators evaluated data storage devices, the scope of the case expanded considerably. The doctor is said to have produced images and multiple videos of his crimes. The allegations date back to December 2013. The doctor was remanded in custody in November 2025 on grounds of risk of reoffending. He was employed by Havelland-Kliniken GmbH, which operates two hospital locations west of Berlin. A total of 18 trial dates have been scheduled at the Potsdam Regional Court.
