Over 200 cattle stolen: Brandenburg police search for blue livestock transport vehicle
More than 200 cattle have been stolen from several farms in Brandenburg since March. Police are appealing for witnesses to provide information about a blue lorry.

According to zeit.de, Brandenburg police are investigating serious theft of more than 200 cattle from several agricultural farms – the offences occurred since March at four different locations.
In the night of 12 May, several animals were stolen from an isolated cattle shed in the municipality of Schenkendöbern (Spree-Neiße district) near Guben. Witnesses observed a blue lorry near the crime scene. The authorities assume that the animals were transported away in a 12.5-tonne livestock transport vehicle.
Police are seeking people who saw the blue transport vehicle, comparable lorries or accompanying vehicles on that night – in particular in the Hammer district as well as on federal roads 97, 112 and 115 and their access routes. Dashcam recordings from the area in question are also being requested.
In addition to Schenkendöbern, investigations are ongoing into three further thefts: in Rabenstein/Fläming (Potsdam-Mittelmark district), Uebigau-Wahrenbrück (Elbe-Elster district) and Vetschau/Spreewald (Oberspreewald-Lausitz district).
At the end of May and beginning of June, police already conducted major checkpoint operations on the A10 and A15 motorways. Brandenburg's Interior Minister Jan Redmann (CDU) stated that investigators are also examining a possible connection of the offences to Thuringia.
