A disturbing incident occurred at a mosque in Konstanz on late Thursday. A 19-year-old present there drew a blade and threatened the clergyman with it.
The imam reacted immediately and notified the officers. When the patrol arrived, the perpetrator was no longer on the premises. Nevertheless, investigators were able to identify the young man through witness interviews.
He was arrested shortly afterwards. He was then taken to a psychiatric facility.
According to police, there are no indications of an extremist motive. The circumstances of the act are being investigated further.
