Brawl in Baldham: Knife and pepper spray used by youths at marketplace

Youths injured after altercation at Baldham marketplace
On Monday evening at approximately 18:20, three youths became involved in a serious altercation at Baldham marketplace in which a knife and pepper spray were used. All three sustained minor injuries, according to Poing police.
According to the Süddeutsche Zeitung, the incident began with a verbal dispute between a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old, both from Erding district. The older youth struck the younger one in the head with his fist. A second 15-year-old, also from Erding district, then came to the aid of the 14-year-old, brought the attacker to the ground and struck him with punches to the chest and head.
The 15-year-old who had been brought to the ground then pulled out a knife and waved it around. His opponent then sprayed him with animal repellent spray. Only a police officer who happened to be present off-duty was able to separate the three quarrelling youths and calm the situation until regular patrol cars arrived.
The 15-year-old who had triggered the brawl suffered eye irritation as well as pain to the chest and head. The second 15-year-old sustained scratch and abrasion wounds to the chest and elbow. The 14-year-old complained of headaches. The knife and pepper spray were confiscated by police.
The youth with the knife was charged with aggravated assault, whilst the other 15-year-old was charged with simple assault.
