Several girls became victims of a serious sexual crime in a flat in the southern part of Halle (Saale) on Saturday evening. Police officers at the scene are conducting investigations with particular urgency.

Two of the affected children had to be taken to a city clinic for inpatient treatment. According to current information, their lives are not in danger. Two further girls received outpatient care. The doctors examined the victims for alcohol and substances that could impair mental state or decision-making ability. Forensic pathologists additionally secured evidence material.

Investigators identified four suspects aged between 13 and 16 years. Their countries of origin are Mali and Portugal. Against the three older teenagers – aged 14 and 16 – a provisional arrest warrant was issued on the direction of the responsible public prosecutor's office. They were taken into custody, and further court proceedings were initiated.

Exactly how the crime took place and what role each individual played remains unclear. Officers are working to clarify the background. To protect the identity of the victims and to avoid harming the ongoing investigations, police refrained from providing further details.
