Petrol station robbery in Sankt Augustin: suspect threatens employee with baton
On 22 January 2026 at approximately 21:50, a man crept unnoticed behind a petrol station in the commercial area of Sankt Augustin-Menden. He lay in wait for staff there.
Shortly after 22:00, an employee came out through the rear exit to empty a bucket of water. At that moment, the unknown man struck. He threatened the employee with an extendable baton and forced him to hand over the cash from the till. He also stole several packs of cigarettes.
He packed the stolen goods and the money into a black Nike sports bag bearing a distinctive white emblem. He then rode his bicycle out of the commercial area into the residential area on Theresienstrasse and further in the direction of Johannesstrasse.
Police investigators from North Rhine-Westphalia are now searching for witnesses who may have seen the man or the described bag.
