Bomb threat against two aircraft at Copenhagen Airport: EOD finds nothing suspicious

No danger following bomb threat against aircraft in Copenhagen

Police and the Danish Defence's Ammunition Disposal Service (EOD) responded on Thursday morning to Copenhagen Airport following threats against two aircraft. Both aircraft were searched without anything suspicious being found.

According to B.T., Copenhagen Police's press office told Ritzau that the operation at the scene was concluded around 10.30 a.m.

— Our assessment is that there is or has been no danger to passengers or others at the airport, Copenhagen Police's press office told Ritzau.

Police do not wish to disclose which aircraft were involved or the precise nature of the threat. It is also stated that passengers from the two aircraft are being looked after.

Communications Director Lise Kürstein from Copenhagen Airport confirmed to Ekstra Bladet that the airport is operating in normal conditions.

The threat against the two aircraft in Copenhagen coincides with a broader wave of aircraft threats across Europe. On Tuesday, threats were directed at other flights on the continent, and on Thursday an aircraft travelling from Dublin to Rome was diverted to the Évreux air base in France following a bomb threat.

Copenhagen Police cannot confirm on Thursday morning whether the incident in Copenhagen is connected to the other European incidents, but the police district states that it is aware of the other cases.
