Dominican Police Capture Three International Fugitives and Receive Extradited Detainee

Interpol in Santo Domingo coordinated the detention of a French national, a Dutch national and a Dominican wanted for homicide, drug trafficking and organised crime.

Three International Arrests in Dominican Republic in Less Than a Week

According to infobae.com, the Dominican National Police captured three foreign nationals wanted by the judicial authorities of France, the Netherlands and Chile, in operations coordinated by the Central National Office of Interpol in Santo Domingo.

French national Romain Cairfarland Eleuthere was arrested on 26 October at Las Américas International Airport when attempting to travel to the British Virgin Islands. France is seeking him as the principal suspect in a murder committed on the island of Guadeloupe in February 2026.

Four days later, on 30 October, officers detained Dutch national Roberto Aurelio Stefano Porru in the community of Juan Dolio—approximately 55 kilometres east of Santo Domingo. The Netherlands is searching for him on suspicion of cocaine trafficking, money laundering and leadership of a criminal organisation. Authorities indicated that he was using fraudulent Spanish documents.

That same day, in Santo Domingo Este, Dominican national Modesto Brand Javier was detained, sought by Chile for his alleged involvement in a homicide that occurred in November 2024 in Santiago.

Extradition from Argentina

On 31 October, the institution received Dominican national Cristian López, known as "Emerson", extradited from Buenos Aires through a joint operation between the authorities of both countries. Dominican justice was seeking him for alleged criminal association, homicide and illegal possession of firearms, in connection with an incident that occurred in May 2024 in the Villa Consuelo neighbourhood in Santo Domingo, where a man died and a 14-year-old adolescent was wounded.

The National Police indicated that all detainees remained in the custody of the corresponding authorities to continue with judicial and extradition procedures. The institution stressed that these actions are part of international cooperation efforts to locate and apprehend fugitives within and outside Dominican territory.
