Off-duty police officer apprehends two attackers after assaulting woman in Málaga
A National Police officer intervened to save a young woman who was brutally beaten in Málaga after being struck with a bottle to the head. The officer detained both assailants while providing assistance to the victim.
Off-duty police officer prevents serious assault in Málaga
According to The Olive Press, a National Police officer off-duty intervened to save a young woman who was violently attacked in the early hours of Sunday in Málaga. The two assailants, armed with a baton and brass knuckles, attacked the victim on Calle Granados, beating her until she lost consciousness after smashing a glass bottle on her head.
The police officer, who was nearby, witnessed the assault and immediately came to the aid of the woman. He identified himself as a police officer and placed his body between the victim and her attackers, managing to disarm and detain both suspects whilst bystanders alerted emergency services.
Police patrols and an ambulance arrived quickly at the scene. Officers took control of the detainees whilst paramedics attended to the victim, who presented serious injuries to the head. She was rushed to the University Regional Hospital of Málaga. The motive for the attack remains unclear.
