A man died from serious injuries in Pieksämäki on Thursday evening as a result of a violent incident. Yle reports on the incident.
An emergency call to Kuopionkatu came in shortly before 6 o'clock. A brawl had broken out among a group of several people, and one party had a blade weapon. The man was seriously injured, and attempts were made to resuscitate him at the scene. However, resuscitation failed to save his life.
Several people left the scene before the authorities arrived. Police located them later and took four people into custody. The case is being investigated as murder and multiple assault.
