The Eastern Finland Police Department is investigating a murder that occurred in Varkaus in North Savo on Midsummer's Eve. An emergency call about violence was received at approximately 20:00.
According to police, the victim's body bore external signs of violence. First aid units that arrived at the scene attempted to resuscitate the victim, but they died from their injuries at the crime scene. Several police patrols and ambulance units were dispatched to the location.
The incident took place in a detached house. According to police assessment, the situation posed no danger to outsiders.
Two people were arrested at the scene, and their involvement in the incident is being investigated. Police are treating the matter under the offence classification of murder.
