Helsinki police patrols apprehended a man in Kivistö suspected of possession of narcotics and resisting a police officer. The man attempted to flee following a stop order.
Drug arrest in Vantaa's Kivistö – wanted man arrested despite escape attempt
A police operation was conducted in the Kivistö area of Vantaa on 10 June, resulting in the arrest of a man who was already being sought by the authorities. Helsinki police patrols located the suspect at Aurinkokivenpihalla.
Upon encountering the man, representatives of the authorities ordered him to stop. However, he did not comply and instead began running away. According to crime commissioner Katja Salmi, the man to be arrested attempted to evade police despite the stop attempt.
Finally, the patrols took the man into custody. Amongst his possessions, a large quantity of pharmaceutical preparations were found, which are classified as narcotic substances. The man is now suspected of a drug offence and of resisting a police officer.
