Police in Häme are investigating an exceptionally large theft in which approximately twenty ride-on lawnmowers disappeared from a company's premises in Lahti. The theft is believed to have taken place in the early hours of June on the company's fenced site on Saksalankatu in Anttilanmäki between Wednesday and Thursday night.
According to police, the stolen machines were later moved to the courtyard of a residential building on Vihdinkatu. From there, the trail of the mowers goes cold, and police do not yet know where the goods were transported afterwards.
Police are seeking tips and surveillance camera footage from businesses and private individuals in the area. The crime is currently being investigated as aggravated theft, but the classification may change during the preliminary investigation.
