A man in his forties was arrested in Helsinki's Kurvi area on Sunday, as he is suspected of stabbing another person.

Helsinki police were notified of a stabbing by the emergency centre on Sunday, 14 June in the afternoon at 15.10. One person had been injured with a bladed weapon to the abdomen in the Kurvi area near Sörnäinen metro station. The injured person was taken to hospital.
Authorities apprehended the suspected man quickly from the vicinity of the incident scene. The person in question is in his forties, and police suspect him of attempted murder on a preliminary basis. The circumstances that led to the act are being investigated.
