Midsummer's Eve brought numerous police callouts to the Oulu region. The area recorded dozens of violent crimes, several drink-driving cases and drug possession offences.

Oulu police had significantly more emergency callouts on Midsummer's Eve than on a typical weekend. According to the authorities, assaults in particular kept patrols busy.
According to preliminary information, a total of 13 reports of violent crimes were made. Half of these occurred in Oulu and Kalajoki. Individual cases were also recorded in the Hiekkasärkki area, Raahe, Ylivieska and Paltamo.
Individuals under the influence of intoxicating substances also required police attention. On the roads, drivers who had driven under the influence of alcohol were encountered in Kuusamo, Raahe, Nivala and Tyrnävä. Drug-related offences were, for their part, investigated in Oulu and Kalajoki.
