A person was injured in a stabbing near a metro station on Sunday. Police suspect a man in his forties of attempted murder.
Knife attack in Helsinki's Sörnäinen – suspect arrested
Helsinki police received a report on Sunday 14 June at 15:10 of a violent incident in Kurvi. Near Sörnäinen metro station, one person had sustained a serious wound from a bladed weapon to the torso. He was transported to hospital.
Authorities quickly apprehended a man in his forties near the scene of the incident. He is suspected of attempting to murder his victim.
The perpetrator's motive remains unclear. The preliminary investigation is still in its early stages, so police have not released further information on the matter.
