South-west Finland police recorded over 50 assaults during the night between Midsummer's Eve and Midsummer's Day. Authorities described the night as extremely busy.
The Midsummer's Eve celebrations turned into brawls for many as the night progressed. Police were called out dozens of times to various disturbance situations and violent incidents in the Turku region.
Alcohol played a significant role in the night's events. Authorities had to intervene in numerous fights and other disorderly conduct.
