Homicide in Côte-d'Or: four brothers apprehended
A 44-year-old man was shot dead on Thursday evening in the garage of his home in Corgoloin (Côte-d'Or). According to Actu17, four members of the same family, including two minors aged 14 and 15, were apprehended a few hours later by the GIGN in Saône-et-Loire and placed in police custody. The Dijon prosecutor's office has opened an inquiry into organised gang murder.
Gendarmes were alerted around 18:30 following gunfire at the family home. According to initial findings, a vehicle stopped in front of the house and two armed individuals got out. One of them fired twice with a shotgun in the direction of the victim, who was in the garage. Arnaud Viornery, prosecutor of the Republic in Dijon, specified that the victim was struck in the chest and did not survive despite emergency service intervention.
Investigators exploited CCTV footage and carried out technical checks to quickly identify the vehicle used. They traced its route to Saône-et-Loire, where a substantial operation including GIGN officers was deployed. The four suspects were apprehended between 23:30 and 00:05 in the Saint-Martin-en-Bresse area: two adults aged 19 and 21 and two minors aged 14 and 15.
Initial investigations suggest the murder may be linked to a personal dispute. The magistrate indicated that "initial investigations made it possible to connect this homicide to a disagreement that occurred between the victim's son and one of the alleged perpetrators". The summary investigation, entrusted to the Dijon gendarmerie's research section, is continuing to determine precisely the circumstances, the motives and the role of each of the suspects.
