Trappes attack: meticulous preparation over weeks, digital evidence erased
A 39-year-old man prepared for two months the racist attack that killed one person and wounded seven others on 23 October in Trappes and La Verrière. He deliberately targeted Black and Arab people according to investigators.

Investigation reveals premeditated preparation
According to Le Nouvel Obs, Kévin T., 39, acknowledged to investigators from the SDAT (Counter-Terrorism Sub-Directorate) that he prepared the racist attack of 23 October in Trappes and La Verrière over several weeks. The attack left one dead and seven wounded, including four in a serious condition.
Investigations reveal that the suspect had specifically targeted Black and Arab people. When questioned during his arrest, he invoked a desire to "avenge the shopkeepers" following the looting of 17 October, but evidence collected indicates premeditation dating much further back.
Kévin T., unknown to intelligence services until the attack, worked in the automotive sector on a permanent contract. Heard six times by the SDAT, he acknowledged the facts and their intentional nature.
Forensic police investigators discovered stickers at the suspect's home bearing the inscriptions "Long live France, RN". Multiple social media accounts associated with this man have been deleted, complicating the reconstruction of his online profile and the evolution of his intentions. Material acquisitions were also documented in the timeline of the preparation.
The individual remains currently in detention. Investigations continue to establish all material and digital elements surrounding this act.
