Deadly radicalisation in the Yvelines

Kevin T., 39, was arrested on 23 October without resistance along the RN 10, in a commercial area of Coignières. According to Le Figaro, he spent 96 hours in custody at the Counter-Terrorism Sub-Directorate (SDAT) before being transferred to the Paris courthouse. An investigating judge committed him for trial for "murder and attempted murder in connection with a terrorist enterprise", with a racist qualifier.

At Collège Les Saules in Guyancourt, the establishment where he grew up, classmates recall a teenager seeking recognition. "He thought he was a kingpin," his former schoolmates reported. A former classmate describes a boy driven by an "inferiority complex". Le Figaro reconstructs the trajectory of a man relatively well-integrated socially whose racist radicalisation gradually consumed his entire mental life.

The investigation reveals meticulous preparation of what he envisaged as a "murderous expedition". Between growing isolation and racist ideological obsession, this man progressively armed himself. The judge of liberties and detention must rule on his placement in provisional detention. The case will be handled at the Paris judicial court.
