Drugs and tobacco discovered at home
According to lefigaro.fr, two minor brothers living in La Rochelle were arrested after a substantial stock of drugs and tobacco was discovered at their home on 4 October. Their father, who initially found cartons of cigarettes in one of his sons' bedroom, contacted the authorities after receiving death threats.
Police officers in Charente-Maritime seized 17 cartons containing 50 cartridges of cigarettes each, as well as 30 grammes of cocaine, 700 grammes of cannabis resin and 475 euros in cash. The two young men were placed under discreet surveillance and apprehended shortly afterwards.
In police custody, the minors acknowledged to investigators from the Interdepartmental Service of the Judicial Police their joint involvement in drug and tobacco trafficking over the past week. They refused to reveal the identity of their supplier.
The two brothers were placed under judicial supervision pending their appearance before the children's judge in December 2026. Police established a connection between this case and a previous operation that had led to the incarceration of a person tasked with storing the products on behalf of traffickers, which explains the urgent transfer of the merchandise to the two minors' home.
