Two teenagers arrested in Moschato driving stolen motorcycle
Police officers from the DIAS unit managed to apprehend two teenagers in Moschato on Sunday evening, after the driver first refused to stop at a signal for inspection.
The incident began at approximately 21:00, when patrolling police officers spotted a motorcycle with two riders at the intersection of Pindou and Riga Feraiou. When the police officers signalled for them to stop, the driver accelerated and attempted to flee.
The pursuit lasted approximately 500 metres through the surrounding streets. The two young men eventually abandoned the vehicle and ran to hide, but their pursuers caught up with them and immobilised them.
From the inspection it emerged that the motorcycle had been stolen a few hours earlier from Kallithea. The 18-year-old and the 16-year-old were taken to a police station, where a file was opened against them for theft and disobedience.
