A criminal group that had been defrauding citizens in Karpathos has been dismantled by the prosecuting authorities. Members of the gang used the method known as the "accountant method" to extort money and valuables from unsuspecting citizens.
According to the Greek Police (EL.AS.), the perpetrators quickly solved five cases of fraud that had been recorded over the past two days. All of the money and valuables that had been taken, which were of significant estimated value, were located and returned to their legitimate owners.
Police officers managed to arrest them before they set sail for Piraeus with the stolen jewellery. The operation was successful and the members of the gang were brought before the prosecutor.
