A twenty-year-old man died yesterday evening in Thessaloniki following an attack with a white weapon. According to initial findings from the autopsy, the victim sustained two fatal wounds from a sharp object, one on the left side of the chest and another on the right side of the back.

The coroner's examination was carried out at the relevant service of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where the body was transferred. Additionally, biological samples were taken for toxicological testing, and the examination is expected to be completed with CT imaging.

Before the autopsy, a coroner visited the scene where the crime was committed, following the route that the victim allegedly took before collapsing on a pavement on Argonauts Street.

On Friday afternoon, a young man who was being sought in connection with the incident presented himself voluntarily at a police station in the city accompanied by his lawyer. According to reports, he is a 23-year-old who admitted his involvement in the incident, but claimed that he was attacked first and that he retaliated in order to protect himself.

The arrested man claimed that he found the knife on the ground and that he was unaware of whom he had injured and at what location.
