A 56-year-old man is hospitalised with severe injuries after falling victim to a brutal attack by five people in a coastal village in Lefkada. The incident occurred outside a shop of public health interest, when the group of perpetrators attacked the man with uncontrolled violence.
According to information from the Greek Police, the 56-year-old suffered serious injuries from the attack and required immediate hospital care. His health condition is considered serious, with doctors closely monitoring his progress.
Police authorities were mobilised immediately following the report of the incident. In the course of the investigation, they managed to locate and arrest two of the five perpetrators allegedly involved in the attack. The other three remain at large.
The motives for the attack have not yet been established. The authorities are conducting a preliminary investigation to determine the circumstances under which the altercation began and to ascertain whether there was any previous dispute between those involved.
The case is under investigation and further details are expected from the preliminary inquiry.
