Officers from the local Drug Enforcement Bureau conducted an arrest on Sunday afternoon (21/6/26) of an 18-year-old in Lamia, for violation of laws concerning controlled substances, illegal possession of weapons and failure to obey police.
The teenager had been under surveillance. When he drove his vehicle to a location near the city's Town Hall—which he was using as a hideout—and exited, he came face to face with officers. At that moment he threw the substances he had on him onto the ground and attempted to leave by running. The officers immobilised him and arrested him.
At the scene, four packages of raw cannabis weighing 6 grammes were found and seized.
The authorities then searched his vehicle and home. The following items were found and seized:
- 88.1 grammes of raw cannabis in 7 improvised packages
- A precision scale with cannabis residue
- 28 pharmaceutical tablets without prescription
- A sum of 486 euros and 5 US dollars
- A "card knife" and a folding knife
- Numerous plastic wrappings and materials for packaging narcotics
His car was also seized.
The investigation is being conducted by the Lamia Subdivision for Crime Investigation and Detection. The young man was taken to the Lamia District Prosecutor's Office and referred for preliminary examination.
