Officers from a specialist team at the Minors' Protection Directorate arrested a 33-year-old man accused of human trafficking of underage girls for the purpose of sexual exploitation, according to skai.gr. The arrest was carried out pursuant to a warrant, following an investigation into the exploitation of two 16-year-olds.
The defendant, who according to reports had previously participated in adult films, is alleged to have recruited the two minors at least since last June. He arranged their meetings with clients exclusively for purposes of sexual exploitation and financial gain.
The meetings were arranged through advertisements which he posted on websites containing adult content. The advertisements contained photographs of the two minors, as well as his own telephone number, so that interested parties could contact him directly. The 33-year-old collected the money from the meetings, giving the girls only a small amount as "pocket money".
The case file formed against him includes six charges: human trafficking of minors as a profession and with continuity, abduction of a minor for the purpose of exploitation, child pornography via information systems as a profession, procuring with continuity, violence against employees, and violation of narcotics legislation.
During his arrest the 33-year-old strongly resisted police officers. Digital devices were found in his possession and confiscated, as well as 45 grammes of raw cannabis. He was subsequently taken to the competent prosecutorial authority.
