Six people were arrested in an operation by the Internal Affairs Service for an organisation that distributed drugs in Athens. Among them were a former PAOK footballer and a police officer.

A total of six people were taken into custody by prosecuting authorities during an operation conducted by the Internal Affairs Service of Security Bodies. The operation was carried out on the morning of 10 June 2026 in areas of Attica and concerned a group that trafficked in cocaine.
According to findings from the investigation, the organisation had been operating since the beginning of the year. Its aim was to obtain illegal profits through the sale of substances.
Among those arrested is a former footballer for PAOK, who worked in entertainment venues. He is said to have exploited his popularity to sell drugs to customers. Also arrested was a 28-year-old police officer who had a supporting role, distributing small quantities to acquaintances.
The case file includes a further 24 people, including one Special Guard. The latter is accused of purchasing drugs for personal use.
Members of the organisation used code names for the substances, such as "lines", "verses", "twenty-five" and "magnesium". They also used phrases such as "ready for war?" and "we will destroy castles, Priams will fall". For their movements they used privately owned cars, as well as rental vehicles or taxis.
During searches conducted at residences and vehicles, 5.8 grammes of cocaine, 6.1 grammes of cannabis, €6,230, an electronic scale, paraphernalia for use, mobile phones and motorcycles were seized.
The investigation also revealed that the police officer and a relative of his, an officer of ELAS, are implicated in four additional unlawful acts: fraud, breach of service confidentiality and bribery.
