A court in Thessaloniki ruled a 20-year-old man should be remanded in custody for armed robbery against a 25-year-old. His 16-year-old brother was released on conditional terms.

A court in Thessaloniki decided on the temporary detention of a 20-year-old man, who is accused of armed robbery against a 25-year-old. The incident occurred in the Panorama area, where the perpetrators immobilised the victim and seized a sum of €20,000.
According to the investigation findings, the perpetrators approached the 25-year-old threatening him with a weapon. They then immobilised him, gagged him, and removed the sum of money from his possession. The accused abandoned the victim and fled the scene.
Along with the 20-year-old, his 16-year-old brother was also arrested, who is likewise accused of involvement in the same case. However, the judicial authorities decided that the minor could be released on conditions, without being remanded in custody.
The 20-year-old was taken to prison, whilst the 16-year-old was released on restrictive conditions. The two brothers face serious charges of robbery as joint principals, which was committed in a particularly violent manner.
Police authorities are continuing their investigation to determine whether the accused had accomplices or whether they had committed other similar offences in the Thessaloniki area.
