Police arrested two individuals aged 19 and 23 in Thessaloniki, who are suspected of breaking into a general goods store in Analipsi and stealing a safe containing €4,040.

Following an operation by police officers from the Crime Investigation and Detection Division of Harilaos-Analipsi, two young men aged 19 and 23 were arrested in Thessaloniki, accused of break-in and theft.
The incident occurred on Saturday evening, when the two arrested individuals, together with two other accomplices, broke into a general goods store in the Analipsi area. According to reporting by Naftemporiki, whilst one of the perpetrators engaged the employee's attention, the others entered the store's office, which they then broke into.
A safe containing €4,040 was removed from the premises, as well as an employee's bag. The perpetrators subsequently left the area.
The following night, authorities located two of the perpetrators moving in a car in Diavata. When they noticed the police check, they accelerated and attempted to hide in a settlement in the area, but were immobilised and arrested.
A sum of €1,167 was found in their possession, which was returned to the owner.
There were already two outstanding convictions against the 23-year-old for thefts, with a combined prison sentence of 12 months.
The arrested individuals were taken to the prosecutor.
