Thessaloniki: Alert over man with chainsaw outside house
A man was found holding a chainsaw outside a house in the Drymo area of Thessaloniki, causing alarm. Police apprehended the man, who is of Albanian origin. A knife was also found in his possession.

Residents in the Drymo area of Thessaloniki alerted the authorities on Sunday afternoon after spotting a man standing outside a family home holding a chainsaw.
Citizens who witnessed the incident immediately called the police. Officers from the Hellenic Police rushed to the scene and apprehended the man, who according to information is of Albanian origin.
In addition to the chainsaw, a knife was found in his possession. According to initial information, the chainsaw was not operational at the time the man was discovered.
The circumstances under which the incident occurred are being investigated by the competent authorities. The man was taken to the Oraokastro Police Department for further examination.
