Two young Germans deliberately hit police car in Pula, arrested
Istrian police have filed criminal charges against two Germans (aged 19 and 20) for reckless driving and coercion of a public official in Pula.

Istrian police have filed a criminal charge against two German nationals, aged 19 and 20, on suspicion of the criminal offences of reckless driving in road traffic and coercion of a public official, according to Index.hr.
On Tuesday at around 11 o'clock, traffic police attempted to stop a vehicle with German registration plates at Trg na mostu in Pula — the vehicle skidded and drove away at high speed towards Tršćanska Street. When officers approached the vehicle and the people nearby, both locked themselves inside and quickly began reversing, then turning towards Cest prekomorskih brigada.
Due to suspicion that the vehicle had previously been stolen in the territory of Germany, several police patrols joined the pursuit. The drivers were violating traffic regulations grossly, endangering the safety of other road users.
On Ulica 43. istarske divizije, an unmarked official police vehicle from the opposite direction came towards them with flashing lights and sirens activated. The vehicle with German plates suddenly turned towards the police car and accelerated — with apparent intent to collide and escape.
The police vehicle was damaged in the collision, and a nearby cargo vehicle with Pula registration was also damaged. The young men continued driving along Ulica 43. istarske brigade until a wheel fell off their vehicle. They then got out and fled on foot towards Trinajstićeva Street, but police soon found them and brought them into the station.
"Although initial information indicated that there were possibly three people in the vehicle, the criminal investigation conducted determined that the criminal offences were committed only by the 19-year-old and the 20-year-old, who on Wednesday were handed over to the detention unit of the Istrian Police Administration along with criminal charges," police stated.
